He Gave Her A Sea Of Purrs And She Gave Him New Life

Fellow activists reported a five-week-old kitten with paralyzed hind legs to Caroline Grace, founder of Baby Kitten Rescue (in Los Angeles).

Archie, a kitten, was in desperate need of expert care and, of course, affection. “We couldn’t stay away any longer and decided to adopt a kitten,” Caroline explains.

“Archie was little and terrified when I first took him home.” A fragile, brittle creature lay behind all this beautiful hair, dehydrated and coated with bugs, thorns, and filthy matting.”

Caroline proceeded to look after the baby, washing him and removing any fleas before giving him water.

“Archie was very scared at first and hid under all his blankets. He wept for the first hour, then he began to feel safe. After another couple of hours, he was already purring, fawning.

Finally relaxing, the kitten fell asleep for a long time in his cozy bed on a full stomach. He was grateful that he was taken care of, so he purred all over the room.

Caroline saw Archie’s rear legs moved a bit once he felt at ease and began to play. Caroline adds, “I also noted that he can use the tray on his own, something I didn’t anticipate from a paraplegic.”

They went to the vet the next day, and Archie charmed everyone there. The kitty did not stop purring throughout the visit. “I started calling him Mr. Sunshine because he was so dazzling, his basic personality was so bright.”

“X-rays showed that Archie had a congenital malformation of the spine, that is, he was born with a deformed spine. Hence the weakness and lack of mobility of his hind legs,” says Caroline.

“Archie is perfect the way he is, but I wanted to listen to the opinions of different professionals in order to do everything in our power, to use every opportunity to make his life easier and happier.”

Archie was scheduled for daily physical and home exercises, and weekly acupuncture sessions with a specialist.

“Throughout the treatment, all the procedures and medications, Archie remained the sweetest, most loving little purr. He always purred and basked in the sun. His personality is quite cheeky and cute, he gives a lot of pleasure to everyone who communicates with him.

When he plays, he rushes about the room frantically, catching his toys as if it were the final time.

Archie exudes happiness and delight like no one else. He went through a lot, yet he never lost his enthusiasm for life, and he purrs every day. “He has no notion that some people aren’t fond of him.”

Pat, a speech therapist, stumbled across Archie’s portrait on Instagram one day and instantly fell in love with him. Caroline explains, “Her spirit lay with creatures with particular needs, and she fell in love with Archie.”

“I told her everything the vets had informed us about Archie and his treatment plan with the utmost frankness and honesty.” Pat accepted everything and stated that she loves him just the way he is and that she wants to continue counseling to give him every opportunity to grow.

Pat proved to be the perfect host for Archie and eventually adopted him. Now the kitten is running around in a new place, his own, playing with new pet sisters and pulling his raking paws at everything he sees.

“I was happy, incredibly happy for Archie – he was lucky to find such an incredible hostess who loved him unconditionally in advance, took him and transferred him to a better life.”

“He loves his new home and starts to make friends with the local cat and dog. His eternal Mother Pat does not have a soul in him, and he clearly already reciprocates her love.

“Archie had a huge impact on my life and impacted me deeply. I value the time I spent with him, as well as all of his love and purr. I’m glad he’s happy now; he earned it, and he’ll be cherished and spoilt for the rest of his life.
