Because Of His Look No One Wants To Adopt This Cat

Lawrence was found as a stray and was taken in by the RSPCA a year ago. He received surgery for an injury to his right eye, and once he was recovered, his rescuers observed that his injuries had left him with a deformed eye and an unusual appearance.

The adorable kitty now has a dubious expression. His disabilities make him even more endearing, but the shelter staff is concerned that they are frightening away prospective new families.

“We have struggled to find a home for poor Lawrence despite him being such a friendly and loving cat,” Georgina Holding, fostering and rehoming coordinator at the RSPCA’s Friern Barnet branch, said in a press release.

“We’re worried that his unique look is putting off potential adopters as we either haven’t had any applications for him or any interest we have had has fallen through. It seems like poor Lawrence has just been ‘ghosted.’ It’s so sad to see such a fantastic cat waiting this long to find him forever home.”

Even if Lawrence’s appearance isn’t particularly striking, it might be the cause for his protracted search for his forever home. His shelter pals are hoping that someone would fall in love with his lovely face and accept him for who he is one day.

Lawrence is presently living in a foster family with children, and in his permanent home, he could easily live with children again. He’s searching for a home that isn’t too hectic, and a yard where he can snooze in the sun would be ideal.

He’s a big lap cat, so he’s looking for a home with someone who enjoys cuddling. He enjoys going on adventures, playing ping-pong, and spending time with his family. He’s having a great time overall, and his rescuers are confident that the ideal family for him is out there somewhere.

“We’d urge anyone who is looking to bring a cat into their life to please take a chance on Lawrence,” Holding said. “We think he is beautiful inside and out!”
