A Kitten Was Found In The Plant Nursery And This Little One Is Not Going To Give Up Easily
The Animal Friends Project’s founder, Carmen Weinberg, received a call earlier this year informing her of the discovery of a kitten in a sizable industrial greenhouse in Loxahatchee, Florida.
When a multicolored cat with a broken paw was seen by a worker moving seeders, he brought it to his coworkers in the hopes that they may offer some assistance. “Elsa (one of the workers) frantically contacted me and asked if I could come pick up the cat. “The receiver picked up a mournful meow in the background,” recalls Carmen.
The greenhouse was roughly 40 minutes away from Carmen. She left since no one else was available to help the kitty.
Carmen arrived, and Elsa ran out to meet her with a kitten in her arms. The poor thing was flea-ridden, with a severely injured right paw. Carmen wasted no time in taking the kitten to the doctor. “I held her on my lap. She was very young – her eyes had already opened, but her ears were still looking down.
The kitten had two broken fingers, they had to be removed. The attending veterinarian affectionately called her Toys (toes – fingers), and this name stuck.
He asked me whether I was prepared to bottle-feed the child and accompany her to the hospital each day to have her bandages changed. I concurred,” Carmen says.
Toyz continuously purred because she was content that someone was taking care of her. She went to the hospital every day to have her paw treated and have the bandage replaced. The medical staff was always delighted to see her.
Even with a tiny cast on her foot, Toyz practiced walking and exploring her surroundings.
“I was amazed at how deftly little Toyz moves. She did not sleep for a long time and demanded that I carried her in my arms.
She enjoys playing and does not worry about any challenges.
The cast was eventually taken off following a few weeks of therapy. Toyz moved even more briskly while purring three times as loud.
She did not sit still, tried to play with all the toys she could find. Playful, enterprising – that’s what she has become.
“Toys can’t step on her foot with all her weight, but she uses it to grab objects, especially during play. A very nice girl. He starts to purr when he sees people. He responds well to his name.”
She will mature a bit more, and her paw will be reevaluated to ensure the kitten has the best quality of life possible.
Toyz adores her foster parents and desires to get along with everyone.
Carmen recently brought home some kittens. One of them is a mini version of Toys. When this little one got out of the nest one day, Toys took the opportunity and ran up.
They sat next to each other for a while and shared a nose kiss. Compared to this small one, toys appear enormous.
Toys is back on her feet and taking confident steps towards a better future after having a challenging start in life.
