Animal Control In Muncie Discovers 15 Cats Placed In A Container With No Food Or Water

A group of 15 cats and kittens were cruelly abandoned in an overcrowded crate in Indiana, an animal shelter has said.

On Sunday, Muncie Animal Care and Services (MACS) discovered the abandoned animals along Reynard Road, near a river.

The cats and kittens were left without food and water, were pushed together, some were only one week old, according the report.

However, the shelter has stated that it is filled with more than 100 cats and is now looking for adopters.

MACS added the following in a Sunday post on Facebook: “The shelter is already 100 cats over capacity (we have 400 cats in our care). The recovery costs have been removed, and the adoption fees are currently $ 5.

“We are doing everything we can to help every animal, but the community should also contribute. Please consider spaying your dogs.”

The Facebook message went on to say, “Putting any animal in a cage with nothing to eat or drink is cruel and barbaric, and those who do so must be held accountable (sic).

“Anyone with information is invited to come to the shelter during business hours and complete a witness statement.”

MACS also stated that they have an “urgent” need for cat food, blankets and toys, among others.

Browning believes shelters should only be used as a last resort for truly homeless pets and dogs in dangerous situations, but a growing number of individuals are calling shelters to deliver an animal that has chewed on their sofa.

“If you are thinking of getting a pet, do your homework, know what you will need and how to teach them, and understand that it is a long-term commitment, not a transient dream,” he said.

When it comes to the 15 abandoned cats, Browning indicated that he intended to hold the individual accountable to the maximum for his ability to suffer and the anxiety the animals have endured.
