Cat Turns Up At Local Cat Cafe After Being Missed For 6 Months Overjoyed Owner Recognizes “Hank” On Facebook

Andrew Humphreys, a 20-year-old student, had a particularly difficult month in June 2018. When he received a worried call from his pet sitter, he was on vacation. Hank, his black and white male cat, had gotten away and was missing. Andrew and his buddies worked tirelessly for the following three weeks to locate him. Once, they were able to locate him.

“We went door to door, placed posters, and advertised on Facebook in the hopes of finding him.” We spotted him once, but couldn’t quite catch him and force him into the car to go back to his house.”

After a few months of no news, he had to realize that Hank might not be returning home.
Andrew focused on his academics while mourning the loss of his pet while life went on around him.

Andrew was sitting at his desk one evening in January 2019, battling the impulse to procrastinate on his studies. He got on his laptop and chose to look through his Facebook feed after failing for a little period. Andrew saw Hank’s familiar face for the first time, whether it was by chance or by fate!

Hank must have had a long voyage ahead of him.
In November, a new visitor was welcomed at an unnamed feral feeding station in Alberta, Canada.

The stunning black and white “cow” cat appeared one day among the feral/stray cats. A man who has been a long-time supporter of the MEOW Foundation managed the feeding station.

After a few weeks of feeding him, the guy realized the cat was far too content and relaxed to stay a stray. Soon after, he was able to catch him and take him to their veterinarian for a checkup. The male cat had been around for approximately a year and a half. Jules was his name, and he was as nice as can be.

He was deemed a stray since he had not yet been neutered or microchipped. He was taken in by the MEOW Foundation when no one came forward during the holding period. He’d be microchipped, neutered, and vaccinated before being placed for adoption.

When the time came, they all realized he was the ideal cat for their Regal Cat Cafe partners.
Around January 13th, Jules relocated to the café.

He soon became a fan favorite among tourists and social media followers. He was also a fantastic example of the advantages of their yoga classes!

Jules is a lovely cat with amazing markings that we affectionately refer to as a ‘cow kitten.’ Before retiring to his warm perch, this gentleman makes his rounds around the Kitty Kingdom every hour or so to visit his new pals.

If you’re lucky, he’ll offer you a friendly bump as he walks past. Come over and meet Jules if you’re searching for a charming and attractive kitten to add to your life. #adoptdontshop is a movement that encourages people to adopt rather than shop.
Surprisingly, he did not find an adoptive family right away! Is fate interfering once more?! It was during Jules’ brief stay at the cat café that his beautiful mug was featured on their Facebook page.

Back to January 20th, Andrew is surprised and has no desire to resume his initial study work!
When he saw the photo of Hank on the cafes website, he knew it was his long-lost cat. There was no doubt about it because of the unusual marks. But it had been 6 months!!! That meant Hank had endured six months of who knows what! Andrew sent the letter to his pals, who verified his concerns and immediately proceeded to the cafe.

“He saw me, and he came straight up and let me hold him, and he kind of just flopped in my arms,” Humphreys recalled in an interview with www.thestar.com in Calagry. I never expected to see him again.”

It took a week to finish the MEOW Foundation’s adoption process and verify Hanks’ identification.

On Monday, January 28th, the two were reunited and Hank returned home.
It even reached the local news when word of the uplifting occurrence spread like wildfire throughout the town. That’s the type of high-quality programming we’d watch!

Hank has returned with his obedient human servant. Hopefully, his yearning for thrills and danger has passed him by!

Andrew told us, “He hasn’t left my side since I’ve been home.”

The reunion of these two needed a team of miracle workers, and it’s something they do every day–with or without the thanks they deserve.
These cats would die on the streets if it weren’t for the efforts of committed TNR workers, feral cat colony caregivers, foster homes, and rescue groups. Cat cafes provide an environment where cats may thrive and mingle with the general population. In these cozy cafés, many more “unadoptable” cage cats find homes.

Regal Cat Cafe, Calgary’s first cat cafe, launched on June 24, 2017.

Kevin and Tia Wieler, a husband and wife duo, “wanted to have a positive influence on the local community.” We discovered the motivation to bring this notion to reality by looking to our four cats at home.”

“Regal Cat Cafe has found homes for over 330 cats and can accommodate up to 12 adoptable cats at any given time.” A 45-minute “Kitty Visit” costs $10 per person and is available seven days a week at the cafe.”
