A 14 Year Old Boy Runs Into Incoming Traffic On The Highway To Save A Cat Thrown Out Of The Car By The Previous Owner’s Ruthlessness
Erin Brown was traveling down the interstate with her son Gavin to a birthday celebration when she witnessed something she couldn’t believe could happen.
A cat was tossed out of the window of a moving automobile in front of them, she saw.
She shouted and the automobile came to a complete halt. Gavin raced out of the car as soon as she came to a halt, signaling oncoming traffic to come to a halt so he could approach the cat and save it.
“He went to the flyover right beside me in horror seeing the cat pound the pavement and skitter all over the roadway and got on top of the overpass about to leap off,” Brown tells Love Meow.
Gavin ran across to the bridge and scooped up the startled cat.
“I’m not sure which shocks me more: the cat flung out a moving vehicle’s window on 196 or my kid rushing out of my car into the highway and plunging onto an overpass to save a cat.”
The scared cat was struggling to breathe. He had pulled his nails off trying to preserve his grasp on the pavement.
“He nestled immediately into Gavin’s arms, and Gavin simply continued patting him to show him that we wouldn’t injure him and win the cat’s trust,” says Gavin.
They transported Lucky to BluePearl Animal Hospital, where the professionals looked after him and gave him painkillers. “Gavin was clinging to his new child. He was a heated emotional mess over this cat, and the attachment was immediate.”
A few days later, a nice stranger saw their tale on Facebook and volunteered to cover the majority of their medical costs. Gavin was floored by the thoughtful gesture, and tears welled up in his eyes. “‘I’ll also offer the $63 I have to pay for my new cat to help us get closer to the goal,’ he said. My heart was overflowing with thankfulness “Brown remarked.
Lucky is settling in nicely in his new residence.
The two pals grew very close. “Lucky knows Gavin helped him, and their friendship is something I can’t put into words,” Brown added. “So far, Lucky is the sweetest cat I’ve ever encountered! He’s very laid-back and lively, and he’s just plain adorable!”
The brave young man is passionate about animals and has always aspired to be a veterinarian. We are confident that he will become the world’s top veterinarian.
