People Are Baffled By This Strange Photograph Of A Cat

Cats are sometimes described as both solid and liquid, splooting, sprawling, and occasionally pouring themselves into some fairly small spaces.

Marvin, on the other hand, has taken things to a whole new level.

Marvin is ready to get booped in the tummy while being carried in the arms of his sister, according to a photo posted to Reddit by Francesco De Filippo. But something isn’t quite right: her hand looks to be going straight through him.

A lot of folks are scratching their heads about this image.

One Reddit user wrote, “Please explain this, my brain is destroyed.”

“What the f-,” said another.

There’s got to be some Photoshop magic going on here. Right?

De Filippo told The Dodo, “The photo is authentic.” “There were speculations and remarks that I was using Photoshop, but this could not be further from the truth.”

So, what’s going on here?

The hand-through-Marvin shot, it turns out, has a perfectly acceptable explanation. Angles — and his delightfully floofy, bendy cat body — are everything.

“Basically, her hand goes beneath his right armpit, and her wrist was covered up owing to his chonkiness and hair (a lot of fur),” De Filippo explained.

So, there’s really no hole through the middle of Marvin after all.

De Filippo sent The Dodo some more photos of him to prove it.

De Filippo explained, “He prefers to be held in our arms.” “He’s a chubby, adorable kid. He enjoys cuddling.”

He’s also quite flexible.

Of course, Marvin is completely unaware of the buzz surrounding the optical illusion in his photograph. De Filippo, on the other hand, understands how much his cat would like it.

“All the attention he’s getting would make him extremely pleased,” De Filippo added. “Because all the love in the world would be insufficient for this adorable little child.”
