At The Shelter A Stray Mama Cat is overjoyed to be reunited with her kittens.
A compassionate woman heard a meow from a waste bag and spotted Wally and Eva on the side of the road. She discovered three kittens huddled together within.
They were taken to the Whitley County Humane Society by a caring individual. One of the three had given up the struggle for survival, and the other two were in bad shape.
Barb, a shelter volunteer, offered her assistance. She was informed that the kittens might not live when she went to pick them up. She took the infants home, desperate to keep them alive.
Weak Wally clung to his stronger sister in every inexplicable scenario. “His eyes seemed to be on the verge of giving up. Barb recalls that he didn’t look me in the eyes, lowered his head low, and grieved in a sad, raspy voice.
“Wally wouldn’t drink from a bottle, so we had to feed him via a straw.”
The youngsters did not take a single step apart throughout the first week of their recuperation.
“Wally was already able to consume pureed beef from a spoon the next day,” Barb explains.
Eva was fiercely protective of her brother, purring and caressing him all the time, as though she wanted to cheer him up. “Wally wouldn’t be here right now if it weren’t for Eve.” She instilled in him the desire to life.”
For some time, the kittens were unable to walk normally and needed massage therapy to strengthen their limbs.
Once they were strong enough to explore their surroundings, Eve encouraged Wally to play and even run. Together they gained a lot of healthy weight and enough strength.
Multi-toed Wally surprised his doctor with an amazing will to live. She again became like a kitten, every day there was playfulness and mischief in him.
“Their eyes are gleaming now, and their meow is sonorous and joyous rather than mournful and gruff,” Barb explains.
“These two always stick together or are really close,” Barb explains. – Eva amuses herself; she’s one of those females with whom everyone wants to strike up a conversation at a party. Wally is a kind and quiet youngster, the sort who’s expressions never reveal what he’s thinking.”
The twins grew up in the weeks that followed, becoming completely grown enough to mingle with other foster kittens.
Barb knew that the inseparable pair had to be together when it came time to consider about adoptive parents.
Fortunately, they met a wonderful family that fell in love with them. Valli and Eva eventually realized their goal after a difficult start in life and weeks of therapy.
No one expected the babies to survive, yet they performed the unthinkable and grew into healthy, gorgeous cats and kittens.
Today, they are content to scurry around their new home, following in the footsteps of their adoring foster father.
